The founding members of the musée des impressionnismes:
The Conseil départemental de l’Eure, the Conseil régional de Normandie, Seine Normandie Agglomération, the Municipality of Vernon, the musée d’Orsay and the Terra Foundation for American Art
The Normandie region, the departments of the Eure and the Seine-Maritime, and the major municipal authorities in the neighborhood of the town of Giverny all provide funds and actively support the Public Establishment for Cultural Cooperation - "the Musée des impressionnismes Giverny".
These authorities include the Conseil général de l’Eure, which first foreshadowed the project, the Conseil régional de Haute-Normandie and the Conseil général de la Seine-Maritime which were both closely associated with this new Museum from its inception. And the presence of the Greater Rouen Community, the Communauté d’Agglomération des Portes de l’Eure and the Municipality of Vernon on the Board of Directors provides the Museum with strong local roots.
The musée d’Orsay and the Terra Foundation for American Art are natural partners to the Musée des impressionnismes Giverny. The Musée d’Orsay gives its full scientific backing, and provides expertise and a generous range of special temporary loans. The Terra Foundation for American Art makes its premises available to the Museum and applies a policy of preferential loans of works from its collection of American artists.
