The Clark’s Collection, from Manet to Renoir
July 12 - October 31, 2011
From late 2010 through 2012, the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute presented a touring exhibition of almost 70 of its most important 19th century European paintings.
Among these works were the greatest of the Clark’s extraordinary holdings of French Impressionism, including masterpieces by Monet, Pissarro, Sisley, Morisot, Manet, Degas, as well as an extraordinary group of more than twenty paintings by Renoir. In addition, the exhibition included earlier works by Corot and Millet, as well as academic paintings by artists such as Gerome, Alma-Tadema, and Bouguereau.
